Social

While most children have an innate sense of how to get a long with others, some children require support and strategies to learn these skills. In order to be a productive member of society, we must learn or adapt to work and play with others. School is the practice ground to develop these skills to work with others and organize ourselves. In order to work individually and as part of a team we need to not only relate to others but to plan, organize and execute complex activities.

At home a lack of these skills can manifest itself in isolation, sadness, prolonged use of screen-based activities, poor communication, lack of confidence and self-care. When a child is having difficulty with peer relationships, organizational skills and self-esteem it can make activities such as going to school, participating in extracurricular activities and fitting into family life a real and unnecessary challenge.
